Tired of Coffee That Doesn't Taste Nice? Try These Seven Tips

When you wake up in the morning and want a strong, tasty cup of coffee, it's thoroughly disappointing when you take a sip and it doesn't meet your standards. Luckily, there are lots of things you can do to improve the taste of your morning brew. Check out these ideas:

1. Make Sure the Machine Is Clean

If you use a dirty machine to make coffee, all the old flavours and potentially even mould or mildew from the inside of your machine can get into your coffee. If you don't want your morning blend infused with mildew, you need to clean your machine on a regular basis. Some machines such as La Marzocco coffee machines can be easily cleaned with a bit of detergent.

2. Use a Clean Filter

A clean filter is also essential. If you don't use a paper filter, make sure that the reusable filter you use is as clean as possible. If you drink espressos or cafe americanos rather than drip brews, make sure the screens are clean.

3. Opt for Steamed or Frothed Milk

A splash of milk can help to make any coffee taste better, but frothed or steamed milk goes even further. As you heat up the milk, that helps to release the sugars. It also brings out the creamy texture of the milk. As an added bonus, when you heat the milk, you don't have to worry about it accidentally cooling down the milk.

4. Add a Pinch of Salt

While sugar is a popular addition to a cup of coffee, you may also want to consider salt. A pinch of salt can help to counteract the bitterness of your coffee. Some people also like to add spices such as nutmeg or cinnamon. Experiment until you find what you like.

5. Try a Commercial Quality Coffee Maker

Rather than just using a regular drip machine, you may want to try a commercial-grade coffee make. For example, many people find that Expobar espresso machines create top-notch commercial-grade quality but with the convenience of being at home.

6. Try Cold Brew

If you're tired of the taste of your coffee, it may be time to try a cold brew. With this brewing method, you don't even need a machine. You just soak your grounds in water overnight. Then, you strain out the grounds in the morning. At that point, you can drink the coffee iced or heat it up.

7. Make Coffee Cubes

If you drink iced coffee, the melting ice cubes can affect the flavour. To avoid that, pour coffee into ice cube trays. Then, use those ice cubes in your iced coffee. When they melt, you don't have to worry about the flavour being diluted.

About Me

Getting my toaster to toast properly

I have a big family and come breakfast time our toaster works over time. I invested in a big, high capacity toaster so that we can get a lot of rounds of toast out for the kids as quickly as possible. It's important to me that it works quickly and efficently and lately it has not been doing it's job. That's why I took it for repair. A lot of people just throw out old appliances but it important to me that I don't add to landfill. Luckily many appliance repairs are quite quick and easy and you can rapidly get your favourite appliance back in action. I hope this blog is useful for other householders with appliances that aren't working well.
